The Cuban dictatorship flees forward to going back
Anyone who expected a test of openness in the management that Raul Castro would make his brother's inheritance just got one in the opposite direction. Senior regime officials, involved in the repression of his people "denounced" on Cuban television that the U.S. was involved in supporting the democratic opposition the inside and outside. Novel proclaimed "revolutionary"!. is not the first time that the internal difficulties and prestige of the anachronistic dictatorship led her to the eternal present as illegitimate ridiculous it is perfectly legitimate for a democratic state support for democratic change in a state in the antipodes this form of government. Boycotts and pressure on Franco's Spain, Pinochet's Chile and the USSR in the Andropov and company are merely signs of a long list.
But in the current campaign for legitimacy Castro attacking legitimate democratic relations between Cubans inside and outside there is something else. Is the clear message that nothing changes. The clique that runs with an iron hand and loosened the rules and oxidizes or repressive apparatus. And that right in increased impoverishment and the activity of those who want democracy.
One of the most prestigious opponents, Martha Beatriz Roque, is portrayed as "dangerous subversive" by the official press. Would you open this sound like?. That has partnerships in the U.S. working to uphold the dissidents and exiles to return their island in conditions of democracy, is it any wonder?, Should we condemn such activity?.
The "complaint" attempted revolutionary new information to present to officials Americans at the U.S. Interests Section in Cuba as agents of contact between internal and external dissent. It's pathetic, no doubt, that the largest exporters of subversive activism diplomat last forty-eight years complaining about this.
The most relevant in this case lies, as we say, how significant is it in the face of expectations that may be around the "new" leadership represented by Raul Castro. Or in a clear, no changes or developments. And so, what changes would be made in the pressure against the dictators?. None.
